Â鶹ɫÇéƬ has received funding from for the promotion of remembrance and comradeship activities and events

These grants will support the participation of veterans and their families, alongside serving personnel where appropriate and are aimed at supporting naval and marine associations and other community-based groups, including organisations which support bereaved families and children.  

Grants must support both of the following outcomes: 

  • Beneficiaries will feel less lonely and/or be less socially isolated 
  • Beneficiaries are enabled to know where to find support

Examples of what the grant funding could support:

  1. Activities of remembrance and commemoration. 
  2. Contribution to travel to national events for a group of people.
  3. Venue hire, refreshments* for local remembrance and comradeship activities and their promotion. *non-alcoholic

It is important that the application comes with the full backing of the organisation or association. The details of this person must be submitted with the application, please note they may be contacted as part of the grant.

Application Guidance

Grants must support both of the following outcomes: 

1. Beneficiaries will feel less lonely and/or be less socially isolated 

2. Beneficiaries are enabled to know where to find support   

All applications will be scored against the following eligibility criteria:  

  • That there is a clear rationale for the project that meets both the outcomes of alleviating loneliness and social isolation and helps beneficiaries to find and access support. 
  • That costs represent value for money. (Quotes are to be provided at the point of application). 
  • That the funding is needed.  
  • That monitoring (feedback) will be provided.  

 

We are not able to fund:   

  1. A project which only benefits one person.  
  1. Organisational fundraising activities.   
  1. Retrospective funding for projects that have already taken place or where payment has already been made.   
  1. Trading ventures.  
  1. *Alcohol. We will consider funding for refreshments e.g food, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. 
  1. Accommodation 

 

Monitoring (Feedback) - evidencing the difference made 

The Â鶹ɫÇéƬ and Greenwich Hospital are committed to measuring and evidencing the difference made by their funding. A monitoring feedback form will be sent to successful applicants for completion post event.    

You will be asked to provide: 

  • Information regarding your activities, numbers attending, types of beneficiaries. eg, adults, children, serving, veteran, family members. 
  • How both outcomes were achieved  
  • How the activity was valued by participants 
  • Comments, quotes and stories showing the difference made related to both outcomes. 
  • Photos of your event 
  • NB. The monitoring required will be determined by the size of the grant and communicated at the point of award e.g additional measures such as a feedback questionnaire or survey will be required for larger grants. 

 

All applications will be assessed on a monthly basis. We will endeavor to process grant applications to meet event deadlines but please bear this timeframe in mind when applying. 

We would expect to receive 1 grant per organisation in a 12-month period although in exceptional circumstances we will consider additional applications. 

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by letter from the Director of Relationships & Funding. The letter will contain the terms and conditions of the grant which will need to be formally accepted prior to payment.

Payment details will be set out in the letter advising applicants of the panel’s decision. No payment can be made until the Â鶹ɫÇéƬ has received the signed bank details & signed T&C’s.
