Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 (Â鶹ɫÇ鯬) is excited to announce two new additions to its athletic leadership team: Matt Gillespie as Head Softball Coach and John Hines as Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Both bring years of experience, proven leadership, and a strong commitment to student-athlete development.

Coach Gillespie

Matt Gillespie joins Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 with over a decade of coaching experience. He has managed nationally competitive travel softball teams, highlighted by winning the 2021 Alliance National Championship. His coaching philosophy centers on player development, competitive excellence, and character building, preparing athletes to succeed both on and off the field.

Beyond coaching, Gillespie has held senior leadership roles in finance and program management, most recently serving as Vice President of Finance at TeleNet Marketing Solutions. Now residing in Kite, Georgia, Gillespie and his family are deeply connected to the sport. His daughter plays softball at Georgia Southern University, and his son is a freshman pitcher at Samford University.

John Hines

John Hines brings over 20 years of playing and coaching experience to his new role. His extensive background includes serving as Â鶹ɫÇéƬ’s assistant women’s basketball coach during the 2024–2025 season, assistant men’s basketball coach from 2010–2014 and again from 2021–2023, and coaching the Middle Georgia Tarheels AAU program from 2015–2021. He has also coached at both Swainsboro High School and West Laurens High School.

While at Â鶹ɫÇ鯬, Hines has supported basketball programs through recruiting, scouting, training, scheduling, and program operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Health Sciences from American Military University and a master’s degree in Sports Management Administration from Liberty University.

With the addition of Coaches Gillespie and Hines, Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 reaffirms its dedication to fostering competitive athletic programs that emphasize leadership, discipline, and academic success. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and a passion for mentorship that will serve Bobcat student athletes and the college community for years to come.
